Discovery Club and Access 21 provide students with opportunities to grow
academically, physically, and socially. Through an assortment
of enrichment and recreational activities, in an informal
atmosphere, members will develop skills, positive relationships,
and intellectual curiosity.
Discovery Clubs for students
at Consentino, Golden Hill, and
Tilton schools, and Access 21 at the high school are funded by
21st Century Community Learning Centers grants from
the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education, and the Haverhill Public Schools. Discovery Club and Access 21 serve 400 students in
grades one through twelve in school year and summer programs.
Members have the use of
all the school facilities including
computers, gymnasiums, and libraries. In yearly evaluations,
students, parents, staff, and administrators enthusiastically
endorse Discovery Club and Access 21. Students who qualify for free or
reduced lunch pay no fee to attend. Higher income families pay
an affordable fee. Transportation home is provided.
